Our expertise in planning long voyages makes every yacht owner's dream a reality!
Bahamas, Haiti, Key West, Abacos, the Great Loop, traveling up the East Coast all the way to Maine... these are just some of the dream trips that we have planned for our delighted clients.
Whether motoring or sailing, no detail should be left unplanned when traveling long-distances in your boat. Based on our three decades of experience, Maritime Services Group can provide recommendations about destinations, what dates it is best to travel, which route to take, and what supplies to have on hand, as well as prepare charts, obtain required documents, make fuel calculations, etc. We can also provide concierge services, such as Port of Call recommendations, catering arrangements, and marina, dockage, and lodging accommodations... anything that you need for a successful trip. Our connections offer access to resources and destinations that you may not have on your own. On request, we can even coordinate your complete itinerary!
If you long for adventure on the water, the "Great Loop" is a yacht owner's trip of a lifetime! An inside passage of unusual intrigue, you will circumnavigate Eastern North America by way of inland lakes and rivers that connect with the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway and the Great Lakes. Through this continuous passageway, you will travel a distance of over 5,000 miles and touch the shorelines of both the United States and Canada.
Cuba is a desired destination, but with strict U.S. travel restrictions in place and being vigorously enforced, American boaters simply can't go to Cuba. There is tremendous interest by boat owners in the southern United States to go to Cuba if it becomes legal. José Miguel Diaz Escrich, Commodore of the Hemingway International Yacht Club, says he's looking forward to the day when American boating enthusiasts will once again visit his facility openly and frequently.
Lee Lyon, who has sponsored Escrich on previous, and hopefully future, visits to Florida, says a good number of the boat owners his company represents would go to Cuba if it was allowed, as would thousands of other Florida boaters. Cruising to Cuba is relatively accessible for any boat 25 feet and longer: traveling at 20 knots, the average boating enthusiast can make it from Naples to Key West in five hours, and it's just another five hours from Key West to Havana.
